One Simple Trick To Encourage Fat Loss
Whether your goal is to bulk up your muscle mass or just tone and tighten a bit there is one key factor that every fitness goal has in common, fat loss. You don’t necessarily have to lose the fat in order to strengthen your muscles, but you will have to focus a bit on fat loss if you want a healthier cardiovascular system or to actually be able to see the fruits of your labor. The good news though is that as you gain muscles, your metabolism will become more efficient and your body will burn fat easier.
Cut Calories For Fat Loss
Decreasing your caloric intake is one of the easiest ways to encourage fat loss. Mathematically speaking the less food that you eat the less food your body will have available to it to store as fat. Of course your body does need a certain amount of calories to perform basic functions to keep you alive, which is why finding your BMR is so important. Once you know what your BMR is you’ll know the minimum amount of calories that your body can function on, so you’ll have a starting point for cutting calories.
Remember that when you cut calories for fat loss, what you eat is just as important as how much you eat. For instance 300 calories from pastries is going to process much differently in your system than 300 calories from fresh fruits and vegetables. Not only will your body be rewarded with more nutrients when you choose healthier options, but you’ll also feel more satiated from less food so you won’t feel like you have to eat more.
Drink Water To Cut Calories
Full your stomach with a large glass of water as soon as you wake up to start your metabolism going, and keep you from being too hungry while you get ready for the start of your day. Before each meal make sure that you drink another glass of water, and keep filling up throughout the day to stay hydrated. The better hydrated that you are the less likely you are to eat unnecessary calories.
When you are dehydrated your body has a difficult time discerning between hunger and thirst so you may end up eating more calories simply because your body needs more fluids. Overall, this does more harm than good to your system because you aren’t keeping your body hydrated and you are overfeeding yourself. Both of these scenarios lead to fat accumulation and weight gain. To promote fat loss it’s important to maintain proper hydration, so drink up.
1. Wake Up & Drink
One of the first things that you should do when you wake up in the morning is have a glass of water. You should aim to drink at least 8 ounces of water in the morning, but 16 ounces is ideal. This should not be considered your before breakfast glass of water, this is simply the first glass to start your day off on the right foot. And while you don’t have to drink it before you get out of bed, the sooner you get the water into your system the sooner your metabolism can start working for the day.
2. Set Reminders
If you have trouble remembering to drink throughout the day then it might be a good idea to set a few reminders on your phone to go off every hour or so reminding you to drink a bit more water. Remember that the more water that you drink, the more hydrated you will become and the better hydrated that you are, the less hungry you will feel throughout the day. Hydration is the most important step to fat loss.
3. Use Bigger Bottles
Fill up a gallon of water in the beginning of the day to make sure that you’re drinking enough. That way you don’t have to continuously fill smaller bottles because you will just always have water next to you. If you prefer colder water you can either store your gallon of water in a nearby refrigerator, or if you don’t have access to a refrigerator you can use an Isolator Fitness Jug cooler to keep your gallon of water nice and cold.
4. Try Water Infusion Recipes
Staying hydrated means drinking a lot of water, all day long. But sometimes water can be boring and you might want to drink something with a little bit of flavor in it. For those times it’s important to have some infused water recipes at the ready . You can even make a few different recipes at once and keep your choices stocked in the refrigerator and ready to go for the next time you want a little something different.
5. Keep A Bedside Glass
Waking up thirsty in the middle of the night could be a sign of dehydration, or it could be a sign that the room in which you’re sleeping is just a tad too dry. Either way keeping a glass of water beside your bed for those times when you wake up and need a drink is a good way to avoid having to stumble out to the kitchen in the middle of the night. And of course if you prefer your water cold you can keep it stashed away in your Isolator Fitness Jug cooler right next to your bed.
