Transformation Story: Drew Daniels

before / after weight loss

The first picture was taken when I graduated high school last year, I weighed 250 pounds. When I moved to college, I decided I needed to make a lifestyle change. Hard work, determination, and keeping my eyes on the prize allowed me to drop 65 pounds!

When I was a freshman in high school, I started lifting for football and I instantly fell in love with the feeling before, during, and after a training session. At the time, I never watched what I put into my body, nor did I care, it was about gaining size to be a great lineman. After graduation day and moving to college, I kept lifting and eating poorly until I talked to my brother and some people at the gym. I started doing research about lifting and dieting and came across words such as meal prep, macros, and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).

I started at ground zero; I planned my own meals everyday before heading off to my classes at Missouri State; I ate between my classes, when I was at work I made trips back to the break room, and went to the gym in the evenings. I made great strides and every day I tried to better myself, even if it was just one more rep! I saw great results, which kept me really motivated. People at the gym were also commenting on my weight loss, people I’d never even talked to before were congratulating me! Knowing what the body is capable of keeps me motivated and I know the sky is the limit. I still have a ways to go to reach my overall goals, but I have the framework down and I just need to finish building! I’m still working hard every single day to live a healthy lifestyle. It’s a never-ending battle, I’ve still got a lot of work to do, but I’m headed in the right direction!
