In the first picture (taken early 2014), I was 32% body fat and in an unhealthy relationship, I wasn’t in school, and I worked at a dead-end job. I knew I needed something different, so I deleted my Facebook, left my floundering relationship, registered for classes, and researched and wrote up workout routines for myself. Over the course of the year, I ran into some difficulties, like not being able to afford my gym membership, so I was working out with water jugs and running the stairs of my apartment building. Eventually, I had to get a second job and I struggled with juggling school, the gym, and a 70 hour work week. I frequented the gym less and less in order to focus on my slipping grades.
